St. Peter School students participating in a prayer service at St. Peter School

“When we listen to Jesus, even when it doesn’t make sense, great things happen.”

On September 4, Bishop Joseph Williams led our St. Peter School community in a prayer service before the start of classes.

Teasing students for their school color of purple, the same hue as his beloved Minnesota Vikings, Bishop Williams told the young Church that “What we all have in common, whether we’re Vikings fans or Eagles fans, is that we believe in Jesus Christ.

What a privilege that we go to a school where you can mention the name of Jesus.”

After the assembly, joined by Dr. Bill Watson, Superintendent of South Jersey Catholic Schools; Father Timothy Byerley, School Pastor; and Kathy O’Callaghan, School Principal, Bishop Williams toured the school. Visiting individual classrooms, he and students discussed and shared summer vacation details, and the excitement for the new school year.

St. Peter also appeared in the Catholic Star Herald as a feature on Bishop Williams' visit to parishes around the Diocese. Read the full article here.
