Visual and Performing Arts

Visual Arts

Students in grades K-8 attend art class once per week. Student projects are age appropriate, and encourage good listening skills and following directions, as well as introducing students to a wide variety of media. From watercolors to pastels, modeling clay to plaster of Paris, yarn, found objects, and everything in between, students are given project guidelines and free-range creativity!

Students also learn art history and about notable artists from around the world, and across centuries, as well as ancient and modern techniques of painting, drawing, sculpting, and more.

Preschoolers create arts and crafts every day! The artwork they produce from their letter and number learning is compiled into a scrapbook that is sent home at the end of the year. They also have lots of opportunity to develop fine motor skills by experimenting with Play-doh, coloring projects, stringing beads, and more.

Other Performing Arts Opportunities

Children’s Choir

The Children's Choir gives students the opportunity to use their voices in praise and adoration to God. The choir performs at Sunday Mass as well as the Mass on Fridays when the whole school is in attendance. The choir provides a wonderful and youthful sound to the Mass and also displays the student’s individual ability to lead and sing solo. Singing in this ensemble has proven to be a highly spiritually rewarding experience for the students. Choir is an after school club.

Please see the Choir page for more information.

St. Peter Performers

Our St. Peter Performers (grades 6-8)  work hard to provide us with an entertaining Spring musical. Auditions are in December and the group practices once a week after school. The St. Peter Performers also learn about everything behind the scenes including, sets, props, costumes, lighting, sound, etc.  They also do team building activities and make lifelong friendships! St. Peter Performers are an after school club.

Please see the St. Peter Performers Page for more information.

St. Peter Rising Stars

St. Peter Rising Stars is a musical production for students in grades 3-5. Rehearsals are after school weekly beginning the second week of school, with the final performance just before Thanksgiving! Students learn the discipline required to be part of a theatre production, and get small group vocal and dance instruction. Some of our St. Peter Performers act as dance captains and stage managers! St. Peter Rising Stars is an after school club.

Please see the St. Peter Rising Stars page for more information.
