#FBF to this year's #CatholicSchoolsWeek Academic Race! Led by our 8th graders, teams of mixed age groups worked together to answer some St. Peter Trivia questions as well as academic race. Teachers and 8th graders represented countries and each team had to have their passport "stamped" with a correct answer. First place teams got a dress down pass; 2nd place teams got a homework pass! Congrats to James, Mirra, Brannon, and Bianca for leading the winning teams! #SouthJerseyCatholicSchools

Reporting from Monday Morning Magic February 24! We dedicated our morning prayers for the special intentions for the Holy Father and his good health ❤️ 6th grade wins the on time donuts drawing; and we're celebrating several weeks of birthdays! Congratulations to our 8th grade basketball players and cheerleaders, who played their last home games last week. And good luck to our sophomore girls playing in the championship game Saturday! Virtue Awards for the week: Mrs. Hall awarded the whole 4th grade for PRUDENCE, for working together to make their personal collages. And Mrs. Roseboro recognized Kayla in 1st grade, and Mrs. Tell awarded Victor in 6th grade with PRUDENCE; they both missed quite a few days of school and have been working hard to catch up! And Mrs. O'Callaghan honored Miss Marrazzo and Mrs. Tell for CHARITY, for helping prepare for the cheerleaders' 8th grade night, and also awarded CHARITY to Mrs. Roseboro for all her hard work coordinating both 8th grade nights! Saints Circles: Mrs. O'Callaghan inspired us by reviewing Sunday's Gospel Reading: Love your enemies, do not judge, be compassionate (Luke 6:27-38). We created a chain of kindness to go around the school! Everyone wrote one act of kindness and we linked them all together. And with that, we're off to the last week of February 2025! Have a great week, Saints! #SouthJerseyCatholicSchools

Monday Morning Magic February 3, 2025 - Eagles Pep Rally Day and kicking off the Souper Bowl of Caring! First February birthdays…but no On-Time Drawing for Donuts because we didn’t have 10 classes on time last week 👀 Virtue Awards: Camila received an award for CHARITY for checking with other teachers when Ms. Weed was a bit late coming back from lunch. Miss Knipp awarded Brendan for PRUDENCE for going back UP stairs to pick up trash that he passed coming down. And Mrs. Hall and Miss Campanell awarded all their 4th & 5th grade talent show performers with FORTITUDE! Saints Circles: Reflection from Trevor Williams, pitcher for the Washington Nationals and a Catholic! The reflection reminded us that it’s great to be passionate about Sports, but we should prioritize our faith first! Think about how we attend sports events: Dressing to honor our favorite teams; showing up early to engage with our favorite players; being ready when the game starts..... Do we approach attending church the same way? Are we as ready to spend time with our Lord in the same way? We talked about this in our groups while we made posters for the Eagles! Let's have a great week with plenty of good cheer and good sportsmanship...but don't forget to attend Church to spend time with God before the Big Game! 🦅E-A-G-L-E-S ! 🦅 #SouthJerseyCatholicSchools #FlyEaglesFly

Friday Mass January 31,2025. 7th grade helps lead. Celebrating St. John Bosco, patron saint of youth. He lived in Italy in the 1800s and cared for hundreds of children and teenagers who had nowhere else to turn, taking care of their basic needs and teaching them the Word of God! #SouthJerseyCatholicSchools

Starting this Monday Morning Magic on a high note - Fly eagles fly to the SUPER BOWL!🦅 Happy Catholic Schools Week! Mrs. O'Callaghan thanked everyone for coming to our kickoff Mass and Open house this weekend—we had many of our SPS families, alumni, and potential new families join us for mass, breakfast and open house! Special thanks to Mrs. Pearson and the choir and our Student Ambassadors for leading tours at the Open House. We had a special guest so we put off Virtue awards for a week, but we still had time to celebrate this week's birthdays. And we had a special congratulations to Ava, in 2nd grade, who was baptized this weekend! Congratulations (and thanks to Ms. Weed for moral support!) Then for our Catholic Schools Week guest, we had Dr. Star from Mad Science, who gave us a few lively demonstrations involving air and air pressure! Hot air balloons, hoverboards, and an air cannon filled with dinosaur snot -- the students loved it! And now, Up Up and Away for #CatholicSchoolsWeek2025! #SouthJerseyCatholicSchools

Snowy Monday Morning Magic as we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Day of Service! Kindergarten wins the on time award (again…punctuality wins you donuts!) And one birthday boy this week! 🎂 Virtue Awards: Mrs. Tell honors Aidan for PRUDENCE for always keeping on top of his schoolwork, and since it's the end of the marking period, Miss Knipp awards PRUDENCE to Lilli and Liam for having the highest average in math! Mrs. Pearson overheard Shawn and Piper continuing their after-lunch Rosary prayers on the way down to return the lunch bins, and recognized them for their FAITH. Welcome Pre-K as we watched a video about Dr. King, and then his “I Have a Dream” speech, delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963. Then in our groups, we wrote an acrostic poem with the word DREAM, describing how we can take action to make a difference in the lives of others. Then we assembled care bags with toiletries and snacks for people in need. Thanks to our family of SAINTS who donated items --we were able to assemble almost 500 bags! These bags will be donated to the Cathedral Kitchen for them to distribute to their patrons. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Speech - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP4iY1TtS3s "Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quick sands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children." #MLKDayOfService #SouthJerseyCatholicSchools

Our SPS Saints learned about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today! Students gathered in small groups (PreK through 8th grade) in the gym to create amazing acrostic poems, representing Dr. King's ideals and their commitments to make the world a better place.
