Merry Christmas! Enjoy our Christmas Door!

Welcome to third grade! We are “Off to Adventure” just like our first language arts theme. We have made new friends and reunited with our old ones. The third grade classroom is now in the main hall and we are excited with this new location.

We are dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. Our class prays the rosary each day and we are studying and learning about the mysteries. We realize how important praying the rosary is to each of us every day.

Our “Adventure” continues into the world of math. Third grade is busy learning place value, rounding, and estimating numbers. Wow! We have been working with some big numbers!

Social Studies is always neat especially when we find out that we are a great bunch of navigators! We are learning about communities like ours and others around the world. Learning about maps and directions is where we are headed. Christopher Columbus could have used a couple of St. Peter’s third graders on his trip to help with the maps. We are also learning about protecting our environment and pollution. We have constructed a pollution collector out of construction paper and tape. We check to see how much dirt we have in our air. So far we are doing pretty well here in Merchantville.

Science is our next “Adventure”- we have been very busy scientists dissecting lima beans and learning about the three parts. We are very happy to report that two little plants have sprouted. Watch out Jack in the Bean Stalk third grade is catching up to you! We also have dissected pinecones- that was a very “sticky job”, but we had fun. Inside we discovered that there are many little seeds in each cone.

Our third grade “Adventure” will be a great one and we are all looking forward to exploring each day together. God bless.
